However, after I make an effort to look my best, I'm ready to go out (or online these days) to conquer the world. That's why it was so interesting to meet Meerinsa Ganieva of Encanto Homewear. A local girl with an ambitious spirit, I met Meerinsa while here in Istanbul. And I found it intriguing how many people have taken the current times as an opportunity to try and better their lives. What type of woman is Encanto Homewear for?
Encanto is for the woman who wants to relax from the day in stylish and feminine fabrics while embracing peace and relaxation.
What made you decide to get into homewear or loungewear?
Earlier this year, I was searching for my entrepreneurial passion. At first, I was interested in selling lingerie. But when I started researching suppliers, it was difficult to find the quality and style of undergarments I wanted to provide. And after a little more research, I realized there isn't enough comfortable apparel that's beautifully and ethically made in homewear. And I wanted to change that.
What did you do before Encanto? And can you tell us a little about it?
Before Encanto, I started my professional career working for a successful delivery service for online shops. We provided a comprehensive package of order fulfillment services for online shops from storing, processing, and delivering goods throughout Kyrgyzstan.
Has it been difficult launching a new homewear business during a global pandemic?
Starting a new business already has its challenges. So adding a global pandemic definitely creates new types of challenges for companies - especially with people having to stay home and socially distance themselves. Fortunately, Encanto is a homewear brand. Since people are spending more time at home than ever, I hope that people are encouraged to continue expressing themselves through their personal style.
What is the first thing you want customers to know when they discover Encanto Homewear?
I want our customers to know that they are supporting sustainable fashion, which will help to reduce our carbon footprint.
What sets Encanto apart?
We pride ourselves on providing ethical homewear that’s locally made, helping to sustain our community’s economy.
How is your homewear ethically made?
Our homewear is ethically made through a sustainable zero-waste process. Encanto creates clothing from reclaimed materials that other manufacturers consider waste. And we strive for circularity and climate justice to mitigate the fashion industry’s devastating impact on the planet. We make ethical products that last. And we believe that caring for our clothing respects the love and labor that goes into each piece.
What is your vision for Encanto Homewear?
I envision an ethical fashion industry where everyone benefits and thrives.
Can you share a hint about what customers can expect to find in your next collection?
