Make the most of what you already own by preserving your clothes. With proper care most clothes can last quite some time. Treat stains immediately, launder clothes properly and dry clothes gently. You can also de-fuzz sweaters and knits with a razor or fabric shaver. And don't forget to take care of small holes and loose threads. You don't need to be a professional seamstress to keep your wardrobe flawless. You just need to know how to hold a thread and string to replace buttons or patch small holes. With a few DIY repairs, you can extend the life of your clothing and spare your wallet.
2. Shop Bargain:
Thrift shop isn't just the name of a song - it's a way of life. You don't have to spend a lot of money to look good. You just have to shop smart. When it comes to bargain shopping, thrift stores, garage sales and outlet malls can be your best friends. But there are also some great bargain online stores like ToSave.com. ToSave.com is an international online e-commerce company based in China, offering tens thousands of products across various categories. A one-stop shop with everything ranging from electronics, beauty, apparel, decor and more, you can find deals of 10% - 70% off compared to other websites, plus free shipping. You heard me.
3. Be Sure to Check Sizing:
Now with all that bargain shopping, gleaming in your budget-friendly eyes, it's important to be sure to check sizing & measurements before you check out. Most outlet & thrift stores have a limited return policy. And with online shopping - who has time to get caught up in returns? Save yourself the headache, (and possibly a few dollars) and be sure to check sizing before you head to the checkout line (IRL or virtually). Get some accurate measurements of your body and keep them up to date. Don't know how to take your measurements? Head to a tailor, take them yourself or get a friend to help you. You'll be glad when your new bargain haul fits just right.
4. Be Creative & Confident:
One of the things I like about dressing is being able to break the rules. Don't be afraid to turn a jacket into a vest, add lace to denim shorts and t-shirts, or turn a dress into a skirt. Not only will you have a one-of-a-kind look, but it'll also cost a lot less than buying a similar outfit from the store. And of course once you have your fashionably frugal outfit together, don't forget to wear it with confidence - because its not about what you wear (or how much it costs), but how you rock it. Whether it's knocking em dead in a new job interview, or flirting with that cutie at the bar, what you're wearing can be that little reminder that whatever it is, you've got this. So shine on, and shine bright!
